SOME KIDS WILL DO ANYTHING TO BE A STAR….ANYTHING
ABOUT
Wimpy and untalented mother Judy Denmark, is a 1950's all-American housewife with an absentee husband and a precocious and remarkably talented daughter named Tina, who is desperate to perform. Sleazy talent agent Sylvia St. Croix wants to make Tina a star and sees the upcoming school play 'Pippi in Tahiti' as the perfect launching pad for her career. She encourages Tina to audition for the lead role but sadly, the role goes to Louise Lerman, whose parents are financial backers of the production., and Tina is left to understudy Louise for the one-night only performance. Well, that just isn't good enough for Tina, because it means that she'll never get to play Pippi unless something were to happen to poor Louise before opening night. Tine hatches a plot to kill Louise and goes on as Pippi.
Meanwhile, Judy discovers that her mother, theatre critic Lita Encore, was actually a Broadway star, Ruth DelMarco. The news turns Judy into Ginger DelMarco, a confident (and talented) Broadway performer.
Tina's heinous act is discovered, and she's sent to the Daisy Clover School for Psychopathic Ingenues. Ginger is wowing them on Broadway, but she's in conflict with Sylvia, who also nurses aspirations of stardom. Sylvia wants to turn the newly freed Tina into the star she should be; and all three vie for the spotlight.
Don't miss the NSCC premiere of this hilarious award-winning ALL WOMAN musical cast this May.
